Apple Crisp:

In a large bowl combine:
10 cups green apples, peeled, cored and sliced thick
1 cup white sugar
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1 tbsp all-purpose flour
1 tsp ground cinnamon


 

In a separate bowl, combine:
2 cups quick-cooking oats
1 1/2 cup chopped pecans (or candied pecans)
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
3/4 cup butter, melted
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Lightly grease the inside of a 9x13 inch glass baking dish with butter. Pour the apple mixture into the dish and spread out evenly. Crumble oat mixture evenly over the apple mixture. Place the dish into the oven and bake for about 45 minutes. Serve warm over a scoop of french vanilla ice cream.
