3 cups dried wide egg noodles
1/2 lb ground turkey meat (or beef)
1/2 bag of Hormel Real Bacon - Peppered (or you can cook your own and chop up)
1 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
1/4 cup of sour cream
1/4 cup milk
1 can of cream of mushroom
3 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp butter
1/2 medium yellow onion, finely chopped
1-2 cups cheddar (or white cheddar) shredded cheese
Start by preheating your oven to 350 degrees.
Boil a large pot of salted water. Add the egg noodles and cook until al dente. In a saute pan, heat 2 lbs of oil, the butter, Italian seasoning, onion, and bacon together until the onions have softened (7-8 minutes). In a dutch oven cook the ground meat in 1 tbsp of oil until crispy. Add the onion and bacon mixture to the cooked meat and stir together. Once the noodles are done, drain them and add them to the meat, onion, and bacon mixture. Turn off the heat and add the milk, cream of mushroom, sour cream, and half of the shredded cheese and mix together. Add the entire mixture to a deep baking dish (13x8 or you can leave in the dutch oven), sprinkle the rest of the cheese over the top and place in the oven for 15 minutes or until the cheese has completely melted.
