Info Post
Crostini with Goat Cheese and Fig:

You will need:
1 sourdough baguette, cut into 1/2 inch slices
extra virgin olive oil
fig spread
Silver Goat Chevre goat cheese (Trader Joes carries this but you should be able to find this in the specialty cheese section of your grocery store, any kind of goat cheese spread will work)

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.

Place the baguette slices down on a baking sheet. Lightly brush each piece with olive oil and place them in the oven for about ten minutes or until they are slightly crunchy and golden brown. When they are done remove them from the oven and place them into a cute basket lined with a cloth napkin. Place the goat cheese on a serving platter (with a spreading knife) and spoon the fig into a small serving bowl and place on the same serving platter (with another spreading knife). Place the platter next to your crostinis (sliced baguette).

Suggestion: Make a couple sample crostinis to lay onto the plate for presentation (so your guest know how to make them). Take two crostinis and lightly spread the goat cheese on first, then lightly spread the fig on top and arrange them so that one is proped up on the other. Also, if you can find an actual fig in your grocery store buy a few of them and place them onto your platter for presentation so your guests know that the spread is fig spread.

If you aren't a fan of goat cheese try this combo of Baby Gouda Cheese, variety pack of cheese crackers, and fig spread. Just neatly spread the crackers out on a serving platter and place the cheese on the platter with a cheese knife and pour the fig into a small bowl and place onto the platter. Place a few figs onto the platter for presentation.

Gouda cheese is the most liked cheese at parties. Baby Gouda is usually coated in red wax, aged Gouda has a yellow coating, and smoked Gouda usually has a black or brown rind.
